Proper Microphone Positioning Proper microphone positioning is necessary for optimum headset use.It is especially important to take advantage of the noise canceling capability found in directional microphone which reject background noise and are better suited for noisy environment. For all headsets the microphone boom should be adjusted so that the microphone is approx. one finger which away from your lower lip.   Flex Boom models have a flexible boom that can be reshaped to correctly positioning the microphone. Just hold the receiver with one hand, and bend the boom with the other.   Fixed Boom models have a telescoping microphone boom that can be adjusted by pulling the boom in or out of the receiver assembly. The fixed boom also pivots (at the receiver)away from or towards your mouth. Do not bend a fixed boom.     Caution: Never forcefully rotate microphone boom past its stop point in the receiver assembly !
